Basically, every frame was in focus, and I was shooting at f4.5, so it didn't have crazy depth of field. Initially, I was using the A7Sii, and it had some issues with Continuous AF. The camera is capable of shooting continuously at 11 frames per second with an autofocus lag of just 0.06 seconds. So the a6000 appears to be compatible with any flash with a standard ISO hotshoe. When I’m focusing, I want to focus on the eye closest to me, not the one further away. I've tried a Nikon SB-800, and Olympus FL-36R, and they work in manual flash mode (as opposed to TTL) on the a6000. Exposure with digital cameras is different from exposure with a film camera. The wide mode can be useful in several situations. With all that said, make sure you test out the Sony body and lenses in Continuous AF before you go out and try to use it in a real shoot. Change the shutter speed to the slowest shutter speed (30 seconds) and set it slower than that. AF is essential to me, so right out of the box, what setting should the Sony A7ii be set at?? The camera will have a difficult time determining the correct subject or it will just pick the one closest to the camera. If there is a highlight anywhere, even in the background, and the highlight has some detail, it appears that the a6000 will try its best to avoid blowing that highlight. If I were to build a flash system now, I would probably use either Paul Buff strobes, or for something more portable, a Cactus V6 (paired with old Nikon D-TTL flashes, which are powerful but cheap, and do work with the Cactus v6). This focus area is pretty amazing. If you have focus peaking activated, the focus peaking will show what is in focus. It is the one that makes contact with the main pin of the flash (or the v6). I haven’t used the A9, but I did recently get the A7iii, and it’s pretty amazing. It didn’t lock on very well and couldn’t keep up with the subject. How to: Turn the mode dial to select a desired shooting mode. To take things even further, we have the Lock-On AF Expand Flexible Spot. After focusing on the flower, I pressed the C1 button to lock the focus. It captures images at 11fps in an Autofocus of 179p phase detection Autofocus sensor in a continuous shooting mode, making it one of the swiftest cameras ever. I never took my finger off the focus or changed anything. It is out of date but at least it has some organization of older posts. Overall, I think this mode is good for beginners. One thing I need to mention is that not all autofocus areas work in Single-shot mode. This is an extremely nice feature, but because there is all the button pushing to get it to start, I’d still stick with the Lock-On AF Expand Flexible Spot. A phase-detection autofocus system is faster than a contrast detection autofocus system. You just have to put your subject matter in the center, and you will get it in focus. It does what Lock-On AF Expand Flexible Spot does but in a different way. In the Center AF mode, half-pressing the shutter works just the same way as regular AF-C. Just for the short time I’ve been using the Sony A7iii, I can say it much better than the Canon. I’ve gotten quick with my ability to move that spot around, but still, there are times where I’m just not fast enough, and I miss the shot. Just turn on Auto ISO.- An external flash will help immensely for low light shots - both in terms of sharpness and less noise. You'll see "BULB". Wide AF might lock onto the wrong thing, but with Zone AF, you can pick the area. Go to Manual mode. I really don’t see this being a very useful setting. This means if the autofocus is acting up, you can’t quickly fix it by manually focusing. You can also do the same thing with the following modes if you just put focus point in the center, and then you’d still have the option to move it if needed. Basically, it’s an autofocus mode, but it does allow you to manually focus after the autofocus has locked in. Wide is similar but also gives the flexibility to find faces and other things.
